Microstructure evolution module QForm UKdesigned to simulation the processes of evolution of the microstructure in the process of thermomechanical processing.
Main simulated processes:
•Static recrystallization;
•Dynamic recrystallization;
•Metadynamic recrystallization;
•Normal grain growth;
•Abnormal grain growth (secondary recrystallization);
•Coarsening of microstructure.
To enable the module need activate the feature Grain size evolution in the tab of the initial data panel Workpiece parameters:

The simulation takes into account the effect of temperature on the coefficients of the fit by. The module makes it possible to carry out a straight-through simulation of microstructure evolution in a chain of processes with inheritance of simulation results. Simulation is possible for problems both in 2D formulation and in 3D formulation. The kinetics of recrystallization is described by the Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov equation.
The use of the module allows you to analyze the possibilities for optimizing the technological processes of thermomechanical processing, including:
- Optimize the parameters of the strain mode in order to obtain a regulated microstructure and the necessary performance properties;
- Select the temperature, amount and duration of holding and heating stages in order to prevent grain growth and coarsening of the microstructure.
